We have recently launched our new Thirsty Earth Sustainability Programme, which captures the three pillars of Environment, Society and Economy. Each of these pillars has goals and targets associated, to ensure we are accountable for delivering our targets.

Carbon footprint
Electricity drawn from the national grid for its production facility in Irlam will be reduced by 40% by July 2022. Increase recyclable waste to minimum of 92% of total site waste by August 2022 Increase the amount of renewable electricity used on site from 250MWh to >1000MWh by 2022 90% of all primary and secondary packaging to be recyclable by 2022 We will dedicate land to planting two native tree species on-site, and introduce two wildflower zones on-site by Autumn 2022
Staff welfare & progression
Kingsland Drinks has a flexible and hybrid working policy in place for the wellbeing of all members and will introduce wellbeing days per year for members, with various activities.
Waste management & recycling
Increase recyclable waste to a minimum of 92% of total site waste by August 2022. 90% of all primary and secondary packaging to be recyclable by 2022
Ecological care & regeneration
We will dedicate land to planting two native tree species on-site, and introduce two wildflower zones on-site by Autumn 2022.
Community focused activities
Kingsland will invest £50k per year into local and national charities and community events and initiatives. Minimum of 80% of our key supply base complete detailed Sustainability SAQ.
Kingsland will support local community initiatives working closely with Bridgewater RHS and Hamilton Davies with a minimum of 20 days working in the community and will donate a minimum of £10k into development of wellbeing in the local community.
Kingsland is working on partnerships with the Drinks Trust on their Equal Measures and/or Develop campaigns to ensure we most effectively promote an inclusive and fair environment by supporting initiatives which provide equal opportunities and stand up against all forms of discrimination, both at Kingsland, and in the Drinks Industry as a whole.

Society
Kingsland Drinks have a flexible working and hybrid working policy in place for the wellbeing of all members and will introduce a rewards scheme. Kingsland Drinks will target to have 4 Wellbeing Days per year for members, with various activities including smoothie bikes, free fruit etc.
Kingsland will target to have minimum of six Mental Health Champions in the business and will allocate minimum of 18 days training days across mental health champions annually.
Kingsland will support local community initiatives working closely with Bridgewater RHS and Hamilton Davies with a minimum of 20 days working in the community and will donate a minimum of £10k into development of wellbeing in the local community.
In terms of longer term objectives, net zero plans are progressing, We have shared our business results for our last financial year with an external company who are currently calculating our carbon emissions on the various categories. This work will be completed in a few months, then we will produce a NZ plan, and when agreed, Science Based Targets to meet our ambitions.
